How to Make a Live Music Podcast
If you’ve ever wanted to know how to make a live music podcast, something in vein of KEXP, Audiotree, or Tiny Desk, I got you. I just finished up a short film documenting how we (Voyd Studios) produce an episode of our series Sonic Seedpod, showcasing how we produce our ultra-low budget DIY show from pre-production through to the premiere on Youtube.
We started this a year ago, and continue working to improve the overall production step by step as we can—investing in a new light or lens as we’re able, and bringing in new people eager to lend a hand. So if I make another one of these next year, the process might look entirely different.
But we’ve come a long way since we started, and we’re having a great time, so I wanted to capture it.
The film documents the production of Sonic Seedpod episode 10, featuring the amazing Andrew David Weber Band. It was filmed in January and February of 2025.
If you want to go a little deeper, we talk more about how Voyd Studios and Sonic Seedpod came about, along with the many ups and downs of our first year in our year end wrap-up episode.
